Not my case. After I came to Canada, I realized that I got it wrong with many very basic sounds. BTW English is my 3rd language.

As a spoken language, it is the 2nd one for me and my folks. Without an interpreter, you can't understand Teochew, which is my mother tongue, at all.

The course of English pronunciation is not only on individual sounds. It covers things like stress in a sentence and words,

connection of words, long and short vowels, etc. Many things were not even mentioned during my 13 years of English learning in school in China.
I took similar courses from SpeechScience in Toronto

Verbal communication is imperative to programmers. They have to constantly talk to fellow programmers, QAs, BAs, architects, managers, and clients. They need to take part in discussions in meetings, make presentation speeches.
