Script of Jim’s speech at his retirement party

Okay. Okay. Haven’t you people here made me talking enough in the past a few years.

Hi. Now. I just want to say thank you to all of you for a great party. And I want to thank the Royal Bank for a great 32 years. It’s been… It’s been my life that what it’s been. And I wouldn’t have any other way. No. I lied. If I had it all to do over again. I’d make sure I got in my staff some women who knew how to make a decent cup of coffee.

(Interruption)

Thank you so much for that, show support. Well. Yes. I…I guess I should start getting used to such acts of disrespect.

As of today, I’m nobody’s boss but my own. And let me tell you. It’s a great feeling.

Oh. Now I want to say I’m especially pleased to know that a qualified, experienced pro (???), like Richard Anderson, is going to be taking over my spot tomorrow. Richard is a great guy and he really deserves the job. I’ve got to tell you though. I didn’t think he was going to get it, but in these days of employment equity, I though for sure I would be replaced by someone in the Scot (???). Hello. I never did find out what you worded (???) your interview, Richard. Oh..Eh…A ??? Sinai (???) number.

Anyway, my thanks to all of you for being such great colleagues, for being my friends, for making it all so hard to leave behind. It’s going to ???. It really hurts.
