second of all, ask your employer to pay for the class, and take the financial burden off your shoulder
3rd, be prepared to work hard on the after class exercises, really really hard, i mean it.
please remember:
1. jerry's class or approach is not a pill that once you take it and your problem is solved. it's not like that. it's a good (non-traditional) approach, and it works for me so far
2. jerry 's class is not simply for pronunciation correction, it's an approach to help you get the sense of language, or put it this way, it's a natual way of learning a language instead of Studying a language.
3. it might not be good for people who are at very low level of english, as they are struggling for the basic stuff. however it's still worth a try giving the approach.
4. jerry's class includes inspirational speeches, and in my opinion, even more important than the pronuciation part as he encourages you and pushes you to step up out of your plate
5. practise, practise, and practise, there is no doubt about this. no pain and no gain. there is no shortcut here.
6. there are tons of other approaches out there, as someone mentioned earlier, this is a huge market. some may work and some may not work for you.
7. pick the one that FITS you most, rather than the one that claims to be the BEST for you. or put it this way: the one that fits you is the best one.
last word, based on the situation you described, i totally agree with you that communication skill is the number one skill here in north america. if you can't get over it, you are gonna suffer it a lot, especially when you see your colleagues with less technical skills get promoted and pay raise. wish you all the luck my friend更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
