本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛first of all, sorry to mislead you by my previous postings. when i replied questions about application, i usually spoke on behalf of my husband and wish my postings could be helpful for others - my husband is the principal applicant and applied as Systems Analyst. He got interview waiver in last Sept but i have to say his English is really just so so. to prove that, i secretly told you his TOEFL is only 550. (hope he won't see this posting - i am proud of him except for this score.) But he took IELTS in last June and got 6 for all four sections - certainly through hard working.
If you were majored in arts but not science or engineering, i think you have to spare more of your energy on English but not merely polish your resumes. it's very likely you will be called up for an interview which will be 90% to make sure you have the language proficiency you claimed in the application forms. It is not difficult to get a 6 score in IELTS listening, reading, even writing and speaking, but to demonstrate your ability before visa officials is a different story - you must really have something to demonstrate otherwise they can see you through in a minute.
As to myself, yes i was majored in trading so i do not have many advantages in canadian job market. so i am still trying to improve my English to get a decent office job at first then move on to what i really like.
wish you good luck.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
