about "agree" and "agreed".

agree means "i agree". very commonly used online.

agreed is a little more formal. it could mean either "this is agreed", OR "i did agree"....why past tense vs present tense?

"....by telling agreed you are mentioning to your friend that you have listened to his words, thought about what he said, and are satisfied that he is right about the subject and then you just tell him that 'agreed!' because a few seconds earlier you just accepted his words....or tell him 'I agree' because suddenly you understood that he is right."

i've seen both being used equally frequently online.

    怕挨砖，我不敢说中国人说的是错的，只敢说中国人说得和本地洋人不一样。

    1. University of Toronto. Some Chinese like to use "UT" while most native speakers use "U of T".

    2. Car insurance, $500 deductible. Some Chinese say "deduction" instead.

    3. When you agree with someone's opinion, some Chinese say "Agree." while native speakers say "Agreed."

    4. 20th, 30th, 40th, ... 90th, some Chinese miss the last vowel, which is more like an extra [i]. Sometimes native speakers really don't know what you're talking about, only because you miss the vowel.

    5. In Edmonton we use grid-style street naming system, which means most streets are numbered, like 23 Ave, 156 St, etc. Chinese usually say "Twenty-three Avenue" while native speakers say "Twenty-third Avenue".
