I've joined Toastmasters for over half a year, just finished my CC ( Competent Communicator ) and currently working on my ACB ( Advanced Communicator Bronze ). I feel pretty notable improvements for myself in a short period of time. Toastmasters program provides great opportunities to communicate with native speakers with numourous non-work related topics / small talks which is important for us to mingle with people from different backgrounds, or table topics to practise improvising a speech with a given topic, or prepared speeches to hone your public speaking skills.
I'm currently the only Chinese in our Toastmaster club, I'd like to encourage my fellow Chinese sibblings to share this fantastic learning program. Please feel free to drop in to visit our meeting at Burnamthorpe Library (3650 Dixie Road, Mississauga, Dixie Rd & Burhamthorpe Rd) starting from 10am every Saturday morning. If you have any questions please PM me.

A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.
There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.
Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.
Members learn communication skills by working in the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
