Thanks jabber. Here is another example of "die-hard".It's on last Saturday's Toronto Star, a report on Nortel's succession plan:
"John Ross, a die-hard Canadian himself,...". If someone is a die-hard for something, s/he is usually a fan/member of something that is not mainstream. In the case of Nortel, it's a rarity in the US dominated corporate giant club. So the title of a die-hard Canadian is proper here. -rounder(rounder); 2001-5-18 {368} (#74739@0)

Addendum: A diehard has some predijuice towards new things.For instance, an X-car diehard will stick at X-cars even it has proved that X-car has poor quality.

Please do not abuse this word---diehard. If you need have sex three times per week or every night, that means you are highly sexually active. But you are not a sex die-hard. Likewise, you may be a money maniac,
but you are not a money die-hard.
