工作学习 / English / 请教各位，低级问题，不要笑话我。1。 我能不能说：there isn't classes today. 我知道these is no class today是对的。如果第一句不对，为什么？
2。Geometry is the branch of math (that) concerned with the properties of lines, curves, etc. 这句话的正确说法是不要that，为什么？ 可不可以用that is concerned with.......
3。This is the oldest residential street in the United States, with houses (dated, dating) from 1728. 正确答案是dating，但是我觉得这里应该是被动语气，所以应该用过去分词。
这些问题虽然低级，但是还是请各位朋友帮忙解释一下，谢谢

1. classes 是复数啦，no = not a。2. 又不是被关心。3. 你的感觉不对。死背语法没有意义，还是多和说英语的人交流吧。

我try一下：（1）there isn't classes today：不对。there be句型是典型的倒装句型，be的数要和形势上的表语一致，即跟classes走。（2）翻译：几何是数学的分支，描述直线曲线等的性质。由此可见concerned之后描述的是几何，不是数学如果在math后加了that，那么that就是指代math，全句的意思就变了。
（3）date表示约会，坚定年代时是即物动词；在表示起源于。。。时是不即物动词。通常说法是：THE ID OF MIDNIGHTBLUES DATES FROM 2002. 当一个动词的不同分词来修饰一个名词时，分词的形式和位置直接决定分词的意义。比如说：spoken english：口语；english speaking country：说英语的国家。well，这点我说不大明白，不好意思。

As for the "that concerned with..." is wrong, because "that" is only followed by a clause, not a phrase; "that is concerned with" is grammatically right, but not the efficient way to say it.
