When I was on the train from Edinburgh to London, I heard an old lady talking on the phone. I was impressed by her voice of saying "darling", very sweet. Actually I found a lot of difference between British English and American English, very interesting. a simple example:ppl say "toilet" in UK, "washroom" in Canada, "restroom" in the State.

I was joking with my hubby, why it is called "toilet" is because it's too small to be "restroom" or "washroom". It only could put in a toilet. :P

Another example is: ppl like to say "wait a minute" instead of "wait a second". I do know ppl in Canada use "wait a min" as well, just heard "wait a sec" more. ppl in the North America like to overstate. -shaula(); 2004-2-3 {449} (#1589899@0)
