其实这只是一个response,我个人觉得比不说话得体一点,基本上是不卑不亢的态度就够了,并不需要真正回答她的问题。实际上,她也不真的关心你为什么离开中国到加拿大来,何必费事同她讲。

I would say, do not take it personally. She might not have meant to hurt you or belittle you or anything. She might be just expressing her opnion.A guy once told me he would never leave Toronto where he was born. His whole family is here. He did not understand why people liked to move around. He did not mean anything bad by saying that. That's just the life he choses. We choose to see the world.
Even if the lady you are talking about does have a problem, it is her problem. There's no point for you to get upset about it.
