Bring only those needed upon your arrival on board, ship all the rest by sea freight. It's much cheaper, usually takes about a month to get here.

Allowance of luggage for one passenger: 32KG * 2 of check-in luggage; 1 in-cabin backpack, no weight limitation. (But you should make sure it's able to be put in the luggage shelf in cabin.)

行李最好用海运，便宜很多，而且可以运大件的。另一问题是：汇丰的支票当然可换旅行支票，如你从香港走，可在香港汇丰总部开加拿大的银行帐号，就不用带很多钱了。

汇丰在国内有好几家分行，北京，上海，大连，广州等，但是人民银行不容许人家做国内人的这种外币汇出业务。所以去香港办吧，直接开户，汇款，来加后很方便，而且汇丰的此地分行都有会说国语的雇员。

我在多伦多并无亲友，海运的话怎么收呢？另外我想在香港逗留一天，采购一些电脑配件如DVD-ROM，主板等，出入海关时应没问题吧？而这些东西带到加国是否方便找到电脑商装成整机？（在香港面试时买了个Geforce256DDR,竟然比国内便宜了上千元）

海运时，有货代公司，可写他们地址，你自己是收货人，或和版主联系，写他地址，关键是收件人及提单是你的即可，到货后还要去海关呀。入海关时没问题，只要你把所有你随身带的，托运的，海运的行李分别列出清单，第一次入境时申报了，就都可以享受免税。

我的问题也许比较特殊：我想LANDING后待半个月，先回现住地新加坡，半年后再入境，这种情况下怎么办海运？货还没到我人已经先走了，可不可委托亲戚朋友代收呢？

海运提货时凭提单放货，可以别人提（小心丢了提单:)），海关免税可能得你自己去才行。你可以提前两个月海运，在你在加拿大的半个月内办理清楚手续。
