shot是一个很活的词,有很多意思, hot shot: “大腕”，“热门人物”，“头号老大”
big shot: an important and powerful person in a group 意思同big bug和一样, 都是指“大人物”“显赫人物”

记得《13 going on 30》中Janne 在一觉醒来后看到的三十岁时候的自己，就是有名的Poison杂志公司的big shot!有的时候，big shot 可以用来骂人或者讽刺人。比如说：You think you’re such a big shot! (你以为你自己很重要/很了不起吗？)
