工作学习 / 外语学习 / Seek help: I would like to improve my oral English quickly (mainly speaking and listening too), at least within half year to 8 months. Where I should go or what kind job I should seek to improve my oral English while I am working?I don't have a job now. Each time my interview or interaction with westerns or non-chinese failed because they don't understand what I said although I have been in here for several years. They have difficulty to understand me and my flow of thoughts as well. I am very desperate.

If people have difficulty to understand you and you've been here for a few year already, maybe better to take a pronunciation class first?

During my time of speaking, I don't use a lot of slang, I am sorry to say. I can basically understand them as well as the tone.

个人意见，仅供参考，拍砖也轻点：感觉他的英语太拘泥于语法，理论上 没问题，但就是听起来怪怪的。比如说: during my time of speaking, 可能用 when I talk 还更简单易懂点。I am sorry to say 在这我作为中国人勉强能理解，但对英语是母语的人来说估计有难度，没有什么可sorry的......

主要是受中文影响比较大，ENGLISH proficiency 不够吧。 忘掉之前用的英语expression，从最基础的词组，句子和expression开始给自己洗脑。知道正确的能让别人听懂的该怎么说。语言是不能创造发明的，模仿就行了。特别是daily life english，花点时间制定个计划，用心积累会有很快进步的。利用所有资源，图书馆，电影，电视和工作场所的同事。从最简单的开始，不要给自己制定的起点难度太大

你的英文没有中国式语法错误。但有英文式的语法错误。简单的说，就是不知道什么时候用什么词。建议你平时注意听别人如何说英语。比如：I don't understand what "Oral English" is? I know what is Canadian English and American English. Did you ever hear anyone talk about some word like "Oral English"? You mean "Oral Communication".
