if he was talking about your email and memo, then it's not so formal writing...unless it's executive briefing notes.

I think emails and memos need to be formal since you never know who might read them. In my case the level of the readers could be up to SVP.

still not the level of a briefing note...so i do believe a lot of westerners forums will work for you, such as media websites, cnn, globeandmail, etc. where many people write long and fairly formal.

多读精读manager的email。不同的老板风格不一样，喜好不一样。所以，外面学来的未必对TA胃口。

这个事情哈，有可能同样的功夫，花在改善与经理关系上，比花在改善英语上效果好。总结时提出英语的问题，更重要的反映出你跟他关系不铁的问题，而不是英语的问题。英语到一定时候就很难再提高，但人际关系可能容易些。

我很怀疑，有多善意。。。。语言能力，硬伤，黑纸白字写入档案，以后别的任何上级想找碴这是铁的借口。。。我跟你说实话，很铁的关系一般是不会这样的。。。。应该说些：有时工作忽略休息，蔬菜吃的太少之类的缺点。。。

English skill is not necessarily equal to communication skill. I know quite a few VP/SVP with fairly average English but with strong communication skills, which is way more important.

我觉得找个私人老师练习写作应该有用的. 你写了让他改. 上大课用处不大,且效率低.
