工作学习 / English / 曾有人说,中国人写英语时的误区是,会用很多复合句。经常是一个复合句连着一个复合句,而老外是多用简单句,或复合名简单句间隔着用。大家什么看法?

那看是Spoken还是Written了, 这两者有很大区别. 如果是口语, 我的口语老师说过一个原则, 两句话表达同一个意思, 挑简单的说. 但写的话还是很严格的. 如果你一路简单句, 照老师的说法就是"Baby Talk". 那个人说的应该是口语情况.

口语时避免用复合句;书写时注意用复合句不要嵌套、一句话里基本不超过一个状、补语从句和另外一个定、同位语从句。言简意赅是此刻的关键!

Yes. They tried to simplify everything so that everyone can understand. So when you read documents, articles, newspapers (and everything in practical except law documents),you will find lots of short sentenses. However, in class, professors still want you to write long sentense.
