very true! for most jobs (except IT programming and a few types), employers look more for soft skills than hard skills. soft skills take time to build, hard skills are easier to pick up.

something that very easy to start with, you can spend $20 and buy a radio clock, put it on your night table, it wakes you up with CBC news (fm 99.1), you listen to it for half hour every morning either in bed or dressing up,then your listening skill will improve a lot in half year.
After all, listening is the first step, after you gain confidence of listening, then you can try to recite what the radio host is speaking, pay attention to their pronunciation...
At same time, you need to learn new vocabulary, try to read a lot of newspaper and online news etc.
I started that practice several years ago, it worked out great for me. when I go to interview now, I am an active talker. :-)

训练听力的同时，强烈建议你Google 一下，找一些Behaviour Interview 的questionaire 样板，按照建议准备好自己的答案，反复练习，一定可以在interview 中灵活应变，对答如流。弥补语言的劣势事半功倍。

到图书馆去借几张audio的碟，买一个recorder。在家里反复听，对着录音机跟读，或者朗读书籍，一定有效，我们都没时间练。时间是财富啊。
