Can't agree more...Surviving skills are essential. Anything above is an asset. Nice to have,but not a must...For a lazy bone like myself, would be only motivated to pursue something essential, but not the fancy and luxuary ones....For something fancy and luxuary, I would lie on back and wait for them to knock my door. Only then, I would let them in. I won't be bothered to put big efforts into acquiring those things. There are lots of better places for my precious time , attention, efforts, strengths and spirits.
